Lightweight and very easy to operate. It's so quiet. Looks requires to no maintenance. Generally cuts quite well. It's perfect for users who might not have mucn experience mowing their yards and might have been reluctant to do so with a heavy gas operated mower. I strongly recommend this product. No oil. No gas. Just plug it in. Very productivity.
The lawn mower was completely assembled which was great. LOVE how I never run out of gas or battery since it’s corded. I was able to go over thick grass and it never lost power. SO happy with this purchase.
first thing came out of the box looks and feels like a toy 😅 i use gas mower too and tried this (TESLA) MOWER🤣🤣but this thing eats. grass smoothly on the first run , wet grass after rain1.the electric motor is more pleasently quiter than the gas , zero fumes2. the weight. is lighter and manueverable than gas ones even with one hand ...3. no stall noted cutting thru thick grass bit tiny drop on RPM tho but recoverseasy to use . .just getting use to managing the electric cord tho while mowing the lawn it behaves like a outdoor vacum cleaner4.Storage wise it can be seated vertically to save SPACE5 STARS. for small to medium backyards

This mower was the best investment The cutting was nice and clean looking, the maneuvering was easy, and light weight to handle made for a quick pass! When the package arrived, I was quite pleased that it didn't weigh a ton. There were a few issues I had with how the shape of the box was in when it was finally delivered. You could tell it was roughed up from not being handled with care. There was the original tape that it was sent out with that was pulled at certain places and the top wasn t even closed. But the postal service had used shipping tape 7 times amongst the top to hold it shut. Which was a bit worrisome thinking that something could have fallen out in transit. Then when the carrier arrived, they carried it over to the designated spot asked to place it and just tossed it down as if it wasn't there problem anymore. I was mildly irritated, but after was definitely pleased when they left finally! And by no means was the manufacturer responsible for the shape it was in when it finally arrived. I just wanted to make that clear because alot of the time, customers review certain items received being under the impression it's the sellers fault, when it isnt!!Now with the mower itself, when I removed it from the box, it was in pristine shape, Thank Goodness!!! Great job on the coating and color choice for it. The manuals and oil were in a sealed bag which was nice. Didn't have to worry about a mess everywhere if something spilled or leaked out. Easy to read, and follow for the instructions on the "How To" parts. Looking at the mower itself to put it in place was actually pretty self explanatory! Pull this, bend here, screw this in place. And it was done. 20mins. Good from start to finish! And I really like how the pull cord is allowed to be pulled and in place along the side of the handle. Less back breaking bending over every time. And the gas cap has a feature in it that clicks when putting the cap on so you're not having to use a monkey wrench to try and get it off due to accidentally putting it on to tight. (Which I have done in the past accidently)Now for the pleasure of the performance. It took 2-3 pulls to start it for the first time, as I was expecting being it was the first time. But it started up and ran so smooth! The Auto Choke feature of it is a nice touch, so no pushing a plastic bubble to prime it. The throttle/Red Handle is set at a great setting. Doesn't sound like a helicopter taking off or a motor boat on low. I was a bit excited to be honest. It doesn't have a handle grip, but again, it was not an issue being as it was a nice smooth finish with the coating so it doesn't feel rough on the hands. The red bar that you hold down before you pull the cord is the same nice smooth finish, and there's no hand pinching when holding the two together! With the pushing, the shells are a nice size. Not bulky and over the top, but makes great for right maneuvers when needed in my opinion. We have a rough yard being out in the country, but it didn't faze it one bit. Ran over the bumps and dips as if they weren't there. (Not that it's like mowing in a rock quary or anything but still) No hitches or stalls with the tall grass areas. Which means the blade is beautifully sharp. I did choose the option of using the side chute for dispelling the grass. If I used the bag to catch it, I'd be emptying it every other row. The mulching option I thought about, but the grass was to tall for my comfort to use it at the time. But will try it out eventually, I Promise!!!We live on a 1 1/3 acre lot outside of town, so that gives an idea of how much I had to mow with it. About 1 whole acre of yard with this was no trouble at all. And after I was finished mowing, I left it set to do the whole, "Cool Down" thing, as some may do just out of caution when a mower has ran for almost 4 hrs with 15 min breaks ever hour as to not over heat it to death. Tilted it back and wiped the excess grass off the blades and in the pocketed area behind the blades, as well as the top, and it was done.I would highly recommend this mower for anyone who is looking for an affordable HIGH quality mower. It really saved me a bundle compared to the other options I had. Thank you Craftsman for making yet, another satisfied customer!!!
This worked one time for about 30 minutes on a small yard. When I went to start it up a second time it would not start. I contacted Craftsman technical support who informed me that I would need to take it to a local repair shop and that it might not be covered under warranty since I am 12 days passed the 60 day return window. Hence, this is unacceptable as it has been used on one occasion for less than one hour. I would not buy this model again and I was not impressed with the customer service I received when I called to troubleshoot the issue.
Bought this due to some good reviews. However, this turn out the best of the junk.Yes, easy assemble. And that is all.Small wheels make it very hard to push in wet morning grass.Very hard to re-start the engine after running a few pass on morning wet grass. Pulling the cord to restart the engine make my heart beat hard and fast.

Bought this mower in summer 2016, uncertain about the reputation of electric mowers, but this thing proved itself. Between the front and the back yard I've only got about 1/10th of an acre to mow, and between the two batteries I was able to get it all done with charge left to spare. All in all, I was happy with my purchase, and even went on to buy several accessories. But a little over half a year ago that all went down the drain. Both batteries were still running strong, until without warning the larger of the two (model 29472) stopped charging altogether. Putting it on the charging dock, the lights refuse to light up on either the battery or the dock, while both still work for the smaller battery. This led me to believe the battery's internal charger circuit must have fried somehow. No problem I thought; this thing has a 4 year warranty. I can just get it replaced, right? So I called customer support. Turns out, the warranty applies to everything EXCEPT the batteries (which conveniently isn't mentioned in the warranty on this product on Amazon even when it includes the batteries). Those only carry a ONE year warranty. Okay, well, that sucks, but whatever. The battery cells themselves are fine, it's just the circuit that's bad, so I'll just pay them to replace that one part, right?Nope. According to customer support, that's not an option. In spite of the fact that Greenworks still produces these batteries, and if under the warranty would be happy to replace it, apparently they have no process in place by which to repair them if out of warranty. That means if the measly little circuit board on your battery chokes out at any point after the one year mark, you're left with a $150 paper weight. And of course if you want to keep using your equipment, you've gotta buy another battery from them and hope that the new one doesn't decide to crap out on you too. At $150 every two and a half years on batteries, I'd rather just go back to gas, since that's certainly more environmentally and economically friendly than producing these expensive lithium bricks to toss in a landfill somewhere. All in all, while I've been pleased with the mower and other equipment itself, I'm really disappointed with Greenworks' warranties and policies, and the way they've left me up a creek without a paddle. For someone who was eager to go full in for them and even talk it up to my family and neighbors, all I can do now is warn them away. For now I've gone down to doing half my lawn at a time with the dinky little battery, but once that craps out I'll probably just go back to using gas (a whole mower costs the same price as one of their batteries), or maybe look for another electric mower company that stands behind their products. Or heck, even just one that lets you send in your parts for repair. Like I said, I'd happily pay to get this fixed, but I'm not going to drop another $150 on something that's been shown to fail.
I bought this lawn mower some time back and it is always been a great mower. But, all good things come to an end and my lawnmower quit working but I found it was still in the warranty. So I called the company and they told me where to take my mower to have it repaired, which I did. However, in my case the mower could not be repaired so they shipped me a new one at no cost. What a great company! When I took my mower to the company for repair I also had to take my batteries with with me. So Greenworks informed me that I was going to be receiving a new mower they told me to go back to the repair company and pick up my batteries. After I got my batteries back I quickly realized that they had not given me back the same batteries that I'd left with them. One of the batteries was no good. So I called GreenWorks and told them about the battery switch. So what if they do, Greenworks sent me a new battery, no charge. Great product great customer service thank you Greenworks.
I'm going to compare this to my previous lawn mower: Toro 22" Recycler with Personal Pace. I'm replacing this mower as I like the idea of batteries instead of gas. I have used this twice since getting it. Once in 5 inch high grass, and then in 7 inch high grass (same yard). Both times I used the bagging feature, so I do not have experience with the mulching or side chute features.Below are what I find to be the major points in lawn mowers, and how this mower compares to a high quality gas mower (both retail for about the same price). The main point in buying a lawn mower is of course mowing the lawn. Both mowers have shown to chop threw tall grass without stopping (while in bagging mode). You can hear the RPMs of the Greenworks mower rev up when needed, then back down when the grass isn't so thick. Reminds me of a gas mower, but in reverse (with gas, the motor bogs down instead of turning up). Once thing I have noticed with the Greenworks mower is that it seems to leave random blades of grass standing all over the lawn. This point goes to the Toro (albeit only by a small margin). When mowing, I prefer to not get too sweated up. In using the Toro for 5 summers, the personal pace feature made it a breeze. I never got tired, and rarely even broke much of a sweat. The Greenworks mower is approximately 30 pounds lighter, but is not self propelled. Even with how light it is, it's harder to push, especially up inclines. It's a bit easier to turn and pull backwards than the Toro, but not much. This point goes to the Toro.I also like a mower to be easy to use. The Toro has always started for me on first pull. The Greenworks is just a button. The Toro is easier for switching to/from mulching/bagging. The Greenworks is easier for changing the height of the mower. Where the Greenworks wins this category is in stopping the mower. Release the bar, and it stops. This makes it faster/easier to cut power and clean out near the blade if needed.A lawn mower should also be easy to maintain. This category completely goes to the Greenworks. With any gas mower, you need to winterize it (in this part of the country). You need to replace oil in the spring. You need to clean the air filter. None of those things are needed with a battery powered mower. However, both mowers need to have the blade sharpened for optimal cutting. The Toro's blade is straight, making it a bit easier to sharpen. The blade that comes with the Greenworks isn't. Maybe I can find one that is.A lawn mower also needs to handle the full yard before running out of power. This is pretty much a non issue with gas mowers, as having a gas can on hand is standard. And refilling it is generally easy. But for a battery powered mower, this is a bigger worry. It takes me 45min to 1 hour to mow my lawn depending on how many times I need to empty the bag (how long the grass is). Both times I mowed I blew through the 4A battery about 3/4 of the way through, and then popped in a second 4A battery (from my chainsaw). This second battery rand down to about 50%. If I had a larger lawn, this would be a problem. OF course, with batteries, I don't have to worry about spilling gas all over. For me, it's basically a tie.If I were to stop here (which is where the major points end), the Toro would actually beat the Greenworks, and I may be considering returning it. But below are a few important smaller considerations.I have three kids, all under 4, and most of the time I mow when they are in bed. The gas mower didn't bother them too much, but did have an effect. The Greenworks is so much quieter, I could mow in the morning before people woke up and be ok. It's truly quieter than a vacuum cleaner. There is no engine noise, just the spinning blade. Sometimes I wonder if the neighbors think I'm using a toy mower. Big advantage to to the Greenworks.I don't like smelling like fumes. So not having a gas engine pumping fumes all over me and my clothes is another big win for the Greenworks. Finally, storing a lawn mower in my current garage is kind of tight. The Greenworks is shorter (mower portion), skinnier, and can be easily folded down. Another advantage for the Greenworks. In the end, I will be keeping the Greenworks. It's a fine mower that gets the job done. I will be missing the self propelled action though.

Great lawnmower. Plenty of power using a heavy duty 12 gauge extension cord. Gotta go slow over tall grass, & make sure it's dry after rain or watering. Very convenient & easy for 69 year old semi-disabled female (5'5" tall 168 lbs) to operate. Just take great care to keep the extension cord out of mowing path, & away from tangling in your feet. Be vigilant about this & just mow away!...without the need to pull start & without the need for a man to get it going. Just push the button, pull up on the handle lever & off you go. No worries...in a jiffy, your lawn is easily mowed & beautiful again. 🙂 jlp
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this lawn mower, but it has its limits. The Pros:The mower is easy to assemble and fairly light weight. I've only been using it for about a month, but so far I am impressed with its construction, and have no reason to doubt it is a high quality product that will last me quite some time. I'll update the review if I turn out to be wrong.Operationally, it offers everything I could want: a wide range of height settings and the option to mulch or bag my clippings. It even has a little clip to secure my extension cord so I don't unplug the mower while mowing. When I mow, the mower is quiet, smooth running, and capable of mowing my fairly thick lawn with easy, except...The Cons:I live in Florida. My lawn is St Augustine grass. It's a wide-blade grass with a fairly high moisture content. This mower cuts it well, but only if I set the mower to bag the grass. If I use the mower in mulching mode (where the mower is set up to blow my clippings out its side and back onto my lawn) the mower can barely manage to cut my lawn without clogging. It just doesn't have the power to cut through my grass and mulch the clippings. And keep in mind, I mow weekly. So I'm not talking tall, out of control grass. For me, this limitation is no big deal at all. My lawn is tiny: I only have to empty the bag once. But if you are set on mulching as you mow, and you have wide-blade grass, you might want to go with something more powerful. With that caviot, I highly recommend this mower.
I've had this mower for a little over a year now. It has served me and my lawn well.A little backstory about why i chose to go with an electric mower: My weekly chore growing up was having to cut the lawn at my parents (1/3 acre); my parents had a craftsman mower which had powered wheels and ran on gasoline. The powered wheels were nice to have because the backyard had a slight downward hill to it but I hated dealing with the gasoline. I disliked having to go refill (albeit occasionally) the gas can or getting gasoline on my hands while trying to fill the mower with gas. sometimes, I would spill a little gas while trying to fill the mower. Not a dealbreaker but it was just annoying.I bought a new house recently and this lawn is significantly smaller (1/8 acre) and pretty level so I decided to give this corded mower a try. Plus, my neighbor across the street, whose house was situated on a similarly sized plot, used an electric mower and he told me that he's never had a problem. The toughest part about using a corded mower is figuring out the best way to maneuver/cut the lawn without having to constantly adjust the power cord. Once you get that down, you will enjoy using this mower - it's got enough power to handle lawn mowing and even the occasional wayward branch. It's easy to maneuver and switch between bagging/mulching. I like how the top half of the handle is held by easy-release brackets so that you can fold the top half of the push bar when you store the mower. The craftsman one my parents had did not have this feature and the mower took up much more space in their shed. It's easy to adjust the height of the blade, there's only one lever to adjust. Here's a couple of tips for those considering doing the switch to electric mowers.1.Buy yourself a nice extension cord that will A) stand out from the lawn color and B) reach from the power source to the farthest corner of your lawn. I originally used the "outdoor" extension cord that i had for the christmas ornaments which was a dark green color. While I never had a mishap running over the cord, it took more effort trying to locate it as I was mowing the lawn. I switched to 50ft BRIGHT ORANGE power cord and have been using it ever since.2. Figure out the best way to mow based on how your lawn is situated and where the power source is. NOW MEMORIZE THAT PATTERN. It took a few mowing sessions for me to determine the best way to mow without having to constantly reposition the power cord but I've got it memorized now and I just follow that same pattern every time I mow. I don't mind that its a corded mower one bit. Generally, its easiest to start at the point in the lawn that's closest to the outlet and end at the furthest point from the lawn. I keep the cord between my two legs while I mow so that when I do the U turn at the edge of the lawn to do the next line of grass, the cord easily follows behind the mower. All in all, this is a great mower at a great price, its got all the power and features that one could need. It is a little quieter than a gas mower so for those of you go-getters who insist on mowing the lawn at 8am on Saturday when the rest of the world is sleeping in, your neighbors will thank you.

Update: The mower also works great for mulching. It is very easy to change from mulching to basket. The mulching plug is very easy to use.I shop regularly at Amazon and frequently read and rely on customer reviews, but I hardly ever write one. I have been mowing lawns for 60 years and have always believed you need a 5 HP gas mower to mow grass. Period. But times change. I wanted to try an electric corded mower to see if it would help with several issues. Until last month, I had never, ever used anything but gas. This 16" mower exceeded all expectations. I gave away my old mower, gas cans, air filters, and tossed the oil changing pan and a bunch of other stuff. I am never going back. This particular mower is very well designed. I do not know how well it will hold up over time, but based on three mowings of heavy, wet, tall northwest spring grass, I think the build quality is very good and I expect it to last. It has plenty of power to mow grass. It is very easy to change mower height with one control. The mulching plug is a welcome addition (but mulching will have to wait for drier weather.)I did not expect the grass catcher to work at all, but it not only works great, it works better than any other one I have ever used. There is an impeller (or something) mounted above the blade which may have something to do with filling the bag. Also, the smooth curved surface of the underside of the mower may have something to do with it. Anyway, the grass catcher bag fills with heavy wet long grass until the bag is full. Completely unexpected. Here is a hint for everyone: I was looking around the shed for something to clean the underside of the mower. I did not want to use the steel scrapers I used on my old mower. I found a rounded plastic tool my wife must have purchased for gardening. It is perfect! I used this: Fiskars Fiber Composite Soil Scoop (7068).If you have never used a corded electric mower, here are some thoughts which might help. Things which are easier with this mower than my old gas mower include: lighter, much less vibration, much quieter, much easier to start, no gas, no oil, no air filter, no tuneups. To start, you press a button, squeeze the bail (just like your gas mower). That is it. No bending over, nothing to pull. It just starts up and keeps running until you release the bail. The main adjustment is using a cord. You do have to learn how to manage the cord and devise a new plan to mow your lawn. It took me three mowing sessions to be comfortable with all aspects of mowing with this mower. You will probably learn faster than I did. Thanks to all of the reviewers of this product and many more. Thanks also to Amazon for hosting the reviews.
GreenWorks 25142 10 Amp Corded 16-Inch Lawn Mower Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, let us discuss why you would buy an electric lawnmower over a traditional gas powered mower or a non-powered mower.I have a smallish back yard that I have to mow. I have previously tried to mow a very similar yard with the unpowered mower and ended up spending more time going over the exact same area than I felt was appropriate. Those things are designed to do something by hand that we now do with a traditional mower way more efficiently. Let’s move onto gas mowers. I have a small yard. HA! So to me, storing fuel and oil for the lawn mower seemed like an unnecessary risk, even if it is a small risk. Plus, I would have to travel to the store to get the fuel from time to time. Now onto the electric mower, of which I have seen two types. There is the plug in kind (which this is) and there is battery powered. I looked at both and although I really liked the idea of battery powered and no cord to run over, I decided the additional cost and the environmental impact the batteries make didn’t translate to worthwhile for me.I purchased the 10 AMP Corded GreenWorks mower and overall I am very satisfied with the performance. It can mulch the grass or you can attach the supplied bag to it and catch all the clippings. Normally I just mulch it.It folds up fairly well and is fairly light so I am able to carry it into my small shed and store it under a cabinet.I have had some issues with the level adjustment. It might be my fault from hauling it around, but it is difficult to raise and lower it after less than one year of owning it.The only other complaint I have is, that at 10 AMP is slightly underpowered and seems to struggle with taller grass. You just needed to move a bit slower. If I buy another it will be the more powerful model. In conclusion, if you need a mower and you have a smaller yard, then purchase this. You won’t be disappointed once you get used to the vacuum sound it produces and learn how to cut with an electric mower. If you found my review helpful I would appreciate that you click the “Yes” button to let me know that I am providing useful information to you and others.
Bought this almost exactly a year ago. When it works, it works well. However, like the two Low*s corded mowers that preceded it, the Greenworks seems to be designed to fail after about a year. Unlike the predecessors, I kept this one inside when not in use. Dry. Clean. But today the switch interlock (you have to push in and hold a button while pulling on the safety bar handle) failed. In order to finish my tiny yard, I had to completely bypass the switch. Not safe. Very unsatisfactory. It is purely a design issue. The switch itself (plastic housing and plastic mechanical throw rod) became overly stiff or misaligned, so that the interlock function wouldn't work.I am very dissatisfied.

I am a single mother and needed to cut my grass so I decided against my best judgement to by a lawn mower online. I cut my grass the day after it arrived. The second time I had to cut my grass it decided it was a one time machine and not gonna cut anymore. I didn't know I was ordering a disposal one time use lawnmower for this much money. By the time I decided that it wasn't going to work it was outside of the return window. Now I have a piece of junk taking up space.
Do not under any circumstance buy this or any other PowerSmart mower. I got my mower went to mow my yard and hit a small twig which bent the blade. I was able to mow a 10' long strip in my grass before this happened. using the instruction manual I order a new blade. The part number in the manual was for a 21" blade not a 17"I contacted Powersmart who informed me that they would replace it under warranty. that was 11/9/20. I was told 5 to 7 days for delivery. It's now 12/15/20 no blade, no response to emails. I finally got through on the phone to be told the blades are out of stock and they have no idea what so ever when they will be back in stock.I was also told that there are no other compatible blades because of the specialized attachment. So again, do not purchase the garbage.
The media could not be loaded.  My other mower is battery power, don’t get me wrong I love it, but we are remodeling a house that has a huge yard and the 40 minutes battery life isn’t enough to do the front yard, we have a riding mower but is a hassle, since the property is kind of far from where we live.Setup was easy - adjust handle, adjust cut height, you need to buy 10W-30 4 cycle engine, fill fuel tank, 3 times pumping, and started on the first pull. This is a solid mower, as in, when you are using it you can feel the stoutness of the assembly as a whole. It feels like a very well balanced machine right out of the box, three clipping options - mulch, bag or side discharge - another one of the reasons I wanted this mower. Seems to mulch really well, but if I need to bag or discharge it is very easy to attach the desired option in just seconds. It also feature 5 adjustable height positions from 1.18” to 3”, is lightweight and compact, easy to maneuver.Overall I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, great little machine that’s an excellent job, highly recommended

So after much research, I decided to get this mower because when compared to all other 15" electric mowers, you'll find that this one's battery is more powerful and lasts longer while even being cheaper than its competition. It doesn't have the recognition of Greenworks or other brands, but on paper it looked better in every way so I took a chance and I'm glad I did.First off, I actually wanted a 17" mower as I think it's the ideal size between not too big or too small. So that was the only thing I was compromising on. But then, Senix sent me their 17" model free of charge because they said they were out of their 15" model at the time. I didn't even know they had a 17" model as they weren't offering it on Amazon, but I was super happy to get the 17" version. Sadly even this model, the 15", isn't currently available on Amazon, but I hope they start offering more of their products on Amazon soon.I had an electric mower before this one, so without going into needless details, this mower is well designed and really just amazing in every way. The power's awesome; it seems that electric power tools are finally catching up to gasoline versions. The only detail I wanted to mention is that I can get 45 to 75 minutes on a fully charged battery. It just depends on the height of the grass. It can last more like 35 to 45 minutes if you're cutting really high grass or being rough with it.Speaking of, I was being rough with mine for a second time and bent the blade more than I was comfortable with. When I called customer service, Bob in Charlotte immediately offered to send me a replacement blade free of charge!I hope this review has been helpful. It's the first review I've ever written not only because the product is great, but because their customer service has also been incredible. So I thought they deserved the shout out.
Parts missing, manual lacks much needed info, hard to follow instructions, no info on cleaning after use. I haven't used it yet but at this rate I am not impressed 😡!PS: Am trying it now. After taking a few minutes to figure out the 3 step process of starting the dang thing, I can only do about 2.5 rows of my small lawn before emptying the small catcher☹️! And then having to do the 3 steps each time😥. At this rate it will take me forever to do my tiny yard😖! PPS: Got only 1/3rd of my small yard done before battery died!😡 Not a happy customer at this point🥴!! PPPS: It has now taken me 5 FIVE days to mow 1 small lawn as I was always having to stop to empty small catcher bag and having to recharge the battery!😖. I have 1 tiny section left to mow but battery said "uh oh", ain't got it in me!!"🤪😡😡😡
Hi. After chemo, my strength is less than half what I had, but that yard's still there. So I bought this little guy-he looks smaller in person, but I can use it, push and pull it and carry it about without any problems. The battery lasts a good long time, I forgot to time it but it was quite awhile. You need to use it with the grass catcher which is new to me, it's not so bad. You need to empty it a lot which gives me a chance to rest a bit, a lot of people may not like that about it though. It cut really good, easy to raise and lower with that one handle, starts quick and simply with a key, very quiet, light weight to push, too. Good for trimming as well because it gets way up close to things, folds up out of the way, battery charges fast, easy to put in and remove. (Must say the 1st time putting the battery in was difficult-that could be since I'm not as strong as I used to be, a friend shoved it it without a problem and I've been able to do it myself ever since. I called the factory and they got right back with me, a man named Bob called and said that was what needed to be done. Simple) If you need a nice little mower that runs on battery, then if you get the chance, this would be a great one to get-I'm just glad I gave it a chance before the price doubled. Fire

TLDR: Redback asked me to not give a negative product review, and in exchange would send me free products. Both lawn mower and weed eater were defective and the weed eater was a major safety hazard.Item arrived. Followed the minimal instructions on the manual. Item never worked. Redback has no phone numbers, contact etc on their site when Googled it. I used the listed “contact us” option and my email was returned “undeliverable.” After several days of this Amazon made it right. Amazon refunded my money & apologized that one of their sellers, Redback, was so difficult to contact about a defective item. Amazon even made it so UPS would come pick the item up via me having to lug a giant box off to UPS to return. After Amazon made it right. Rachel from Redback sent an email. The email was to set up a phone call time to troubleshoot the item. By this time the item was already gone and refunded. Now that was just for the lawnmower. I additionally purchased the cordless weed eater and leaf blower. I liked that all 3 units were more compact, light weight , & ran on the same battery. Redback cordless weed eater was easy to assemble and I followed the manual instructions. Upon first use, I was about 10 min into use, the battery self ejected from the top of the weed eater. Thinking I didn’t fully “click” it in, I re inserted the battery. Began using for the other side of my yard. This is the stringless option and uses small blue “blades”. This was a feature that appealed to me. A few minutes in, one of the blades flew off of the unit. It had melted at the base that holds it onto the unit, melted and flew off. Being a bit more annoyed, replaced with a new blade. Now we were good to go and keep edging my yard…But wait, there is more. A collective 15-ish min into total use, the weed eater FELL APART. The bottom 1/3 of the unit detached from the top where I was holding the handles. This now became a HUGE safety issue! There was no fail safe to auto stop the now free swinging power head with 2 blades attached to immediately stop. I immediately took my hand off the trigger and the unit continued to freely swing like a mid evil torture device for another 5-7 seconds. This could have been worse. No one was actually injured, but easily could have been a bad situation needing medical attention quickly. So next, I went back to the email from Rachel @ Redback and updated that yet another product was defective. Next call was to Amazon customer service. They could see the issue with the lawn mower from the same company. I send them a video I took (safely) to show how the product came apart, while in use, thru no user error, & didn’t immediately stop running. Amazon refunded my money. They also asked me to dispose of the product as sending back would be useless since the item is a safety hazard. At that point I was satisfied.Until…. A call from the seller came in last night. (Amazon had already made it right and my money returned) Redback called and first apologized. Asked how to make it right. Told them Amazon has fixed the situation & money returned. At this point the Redback rep began to almost accuse me of not knowing how to use a weed eater. The Redback rep began to question if I was using the item improperly. I informed the Redback rep that I am a gardener & have years of experience using lawn & garden equipment. When I told him there was nothing more I desired that’s when the conversation shifts. The Redback rep asked if they could SEND ME FREE PRODUCTS AS LONG AS I DONT WRITE A NEGATIVE REVIEW!?! Are you kidding me? The call came in at 8:04 on a Monday night, from a “scam likely”phone number with an LA area code. The call was 12 minutes. The gentleman asked me to email him at:Info.swift garden.com with my address so they could send free product.I was so angry that is what he flat out was asking me to do. I read through (sometimes) hundreds of reviews on products I am interested in. I called Amazon customer service and let them know the information and that one of their sellers is asking to give false reviews in exchange for “free products.” Amazon was very interested in the information & noted they are looking into the situation. Will NOT buy from them again.
The assembly was a problem as the directions are vague, the print and illustrations are very tiny, I initially put the handles on backwards and had to go online to find photos to get it right! I just used it for the first time today .I love it! It's exactly what I need for my small yard. Although the fist cut in spring is usually hard because I have a "jungle" to cut, this little mower is mighty! In some spots over 14 inches high! I 💕 Love the light weight and maneuverability making it easy to use! Best purchase I ever made!
Had a charger that was DOA. Contacted customer support and they were amazing to work with. I emailed them fairly late in the afternoon and 2 days later had a replacement. Love the mower, it's light, easy to operate, and plenty powerful. Again, can't stress enough how great customer service was.Edit: apparently I wrote too soon. It turned out it was the charger that was bad. I've been trying for weeks to get a replacement. Once they had their good review all communication stopped. We'll see if a 1 star review will get me any help. After months of trying to get a replacement charger one became in stock to buy. On second use the screws holding the handle on stripped the plastic smooth and it's now unusable and cannot be returned.Horrible product and wasted money.

I live in a place where we mow our lawn all year and bought this mower a year ago.The machine itself is solid - it mows the lawn well. The problem is the batteries - and this problem is huge. Buried in the depths of the manual is a warning - the batteries do not have a charge management circuit, neither on the battery nor the charger. This missing circuit - which is common in almost all modern battery charging - means that you have to watch your batteries when they charge and immediately remove them when they are full. Fail to do this and the batteries rapidly and permanently lose their ability to hold a charge. How severe is this problem? Well, we have a moderately sized yard, about 1,500 feet of grass. For the first two times we moved, the mower easily finished the job with charge to spare. The third time we ran out juice before we finished the yard. A year later and the batteries last about 100-150 linear feet.Replacement batteries cost around $125 each and come with the same charging issue - miss taking them off the charger once and you'll ruin the battery permanently.Try to imagine another device in your life that is ruined if you leave it on the charger overnight. Doubt you can think of one, and that's why Greenworks cutting costs by removing a charging management circuit is baffling - unless of course that's part of their strategy to sell more batteries.Having used this machine for a year, we're now switching to a different, well known, brand that features batteries that work in all our power tools. In summary: If you don't mind watching your batteries like a hawk while they charge, this mower will work for you. Otherwise, find a different brand.
I wish I never purchased this expensive lawn mower, but it is too late to return it. I've had problems with the battery as well as the machine clearing the clippings. The lithium battery held a good charge straight from the factory, but after I ran through that initial charge, it requires near-constant charging and loses the charge when stored for a few days. I think I read somewhere on the website that it is supposed to mow 7000 square feet of lawn on one charge. My front yard is between 300-400 feet; my back lawn is between 600-700 feet. On the initial charge, I was able to mow both the front and back over two days. On subsequent charges, it has only done one lawn area. Unfortunately, its limitations were only discovered gradually (first that it wouldn't do both back and front lawns on one charge and then that it didn't hold the remaining charge for 5 days). So twice now I've planned to mow...and there was little or no charge left (after only doing the front lawn. I've also had issues with the clippings from the mower. I'm using the bag (not mulch option). A LOT comes out the sides, at times completely clogging the little cupped areas on each side of the mower. A LOT doesn't make it into the bag; sometimes the chute that funnels the clippings into the bag gets completely clogged and has to be removed manually.Very frustrated with this machine!
The Bad: Suggest that you get up 1/2 acre of mowing & 60 minutes of run time. Which is false! I spoke to greenworks directly on 11/27/2018 and they told me that average run time with the battery is 20 to 30 minutes with 4.0 A battery using the bag and not the mulching plug. The battery will operate at even less time with the mulch plug in.Second battery was recommended - which costs an additional $80.00 to $130.00 depending on amperage.Realistically if you mow at a normal walking pace, your looking at about 2000 to 3000 square feet of moving. So the claims of 1/2 acre and 60 minutes of run time are ridiculousThis could be improved by 1. Most importantly not exaggerating run time and 2. offering the mower package with an extra battery. The good: light weight, cuts the grass well, low noise.
